Wilted Flowers
By: Smallville's Girl

Clark stood before Lex, white t-shirt ripped, the legs of his jeans missing, and wilted flowers in his hands. His hair was rumpled, and there were leaves and sticks in his hair. Clark stood there for a moment, before offering the wilted flowers to Lex.

“What in the world happened to you?” Lex said, rushing to Clark and embracing him.

“Meteor mutant,” Clark supplied with a frown.

“Whatever is wrong with you?” Lex said, picking leaves and twigs out of Clark’s hair.

“I just wanted everything to be perfect,” Clark said with tears in his eyes. Lex took one look at him, and hugged him harder. “It’s our first official Valentine’s Day together. I wanted to give you flowers, and take you out to dinner, and snuggle.”

“Tell you what. Why don’t you go upstairs and take a hot shower, and put on some pajamas that you have here. I’ll have Cook bring up some hot chocolate and strawberries, and we’ll make our own perfect Valentine’s Day up in my room,” Lex said with a large smile. Clark kissed him soundly on the lips and was out of the room before Lex could blink. Lex made a quick in house call to Cook, and then quickly made his way up to his bedroom.

He opened the door, and smiled. Clark was lying on the bed, fast asleep. His skin was golden in the lamplight, and Lex stood and listened for a moment to the deep even breathing coming from his lover. This meteor mutant must have really taken it out of him, Lex thought. He stepped further into the room, quickly changed into some pajamas, closed the door, and went to join his lover in sleep. They could celebrate Valentine’s Day tomorrow. Right now, Lex was content to slumber with the owner of his heart.
