Moved
By: Smallville's Girl

Clark walked silently through the early morning mists. He always came this early; it made it easy to avoid prying eyes. As he walked further in, his feet made their way to the large tree, and next to it, the tombstone. He had been buried there; or at least a stone had been placed here. They didn’t really know where he was.

“Hi,” Clark said, as he placed the sunflower on the stone. He sat down in front of it, and gently caressed it. “I miss you. I know, I say that every time I come here, but it’s true. You were the only one around here that really knew me; the only one I could really trust.” A single tear made its way down his cheek. “You know, everyone was so oblivious. They couldn’t see what was right in front of them.” The tear dropped from Clark’s cheek and landed on the stone.

“Everyone is doing fine. Everyone seems to have to moved on. I think I have, but it is so hard. I actually came here to let you know that I think I found someone. He’s not like you, but he’s sweet and smart and funny. I met him at the Daily Planet in Metropolis. His name’s Jimmy; a little geeky, but he’s cute. I brought him by the house to meet with Mom and Dad, and they like him. They didn’t really know you. They knew what you showed the world, not what you showed me. I knew the real you. And no one else will ever know what I know.” Clark paused, letting the tears fall. He waited a couple of minutes, and collected his emotions. “You will always be here in my heart,” Clark said, placing a hand on his heart. “But, I think it is time for me to let go. I need to move on with my life. I will always love you.”

Clark stood up, and slowly brushed the tears from his face. He took one last look at the headstone, before slowly walking home. He saw Jimmy waiting for him at the fence. Jimmy placed his hand on Clark’s cheek. “Are you okay?” Jimmy asked. Clark nodded silently, and leaned into Jimmy’s touch. “Let’s go. Mom is waiting with some breakfast.” As they walked, the sun rose, and the light bounced of the stone making the name ‘Whitney Fordman’ shine from tears left by Clark.
